About 800K veterans have completed a college degree since the passage of the 2009 Post 911 GI Bill – about 100K per year. This the same number used in the video, which referenced 1% of our 10 million veterans not using their GE Bill. Turns out that about 100K per year do use their GI benefits and if we awarded 1 semester of credit to those vets, we’d save $1B per year ($10,000 per year tuition X 100,000 veterans = $1B)

According to the Rand Corporation:
Vets reported problems transferring military training to academic credits at their institutions.
57 % of survey attempted, but only 47 % of those were satisfied. Only 27% felt they got the credit they deserved!
Participants frustrated that military experience was overlooked or relevant course credits were not accepted.
